Routes and trails

Nine routes waymarked by the municipality, each with its own colour. They range from the 2.1 km walk to St Lucy's chapel to the 15.45 km great loop of Ponti, taking in the forts of the Nava entrenched camp.

Route A - Colle di Nava Loop

The easiest of the official routes: almost flat, it starts from the Colle di Nava car park and can also be driven. Ideal for a first look at the pass and its forts.

Route B - The Forts and Monte Ariolo

Demanding and panoramic, it crosses the heart of the entrenched camp: Forte Bellarasco, the San Lorenzo batteries and Forte Richermo, up to a maximum of 1,221 m at Monte Ariolo.

A medium-difficulty loop, partly drivable, reaching the 1,243 m Passo di Prale.

Demanding, panoramic and evocative: it climbs to the 1,336 m Tetti dei Cani, the highest point among the official routes.

A moderately demanding, sunny route starting from the town hall square in San Luigi at 619 m and crossing the cultivated terraces above the village.

Moderately demanding, historical and monumental: it starts from Case Rosse at 722 m and touches the religious and rural heritage between Ottano and the village centre.

Route H - The Great Ponti Loop

The longest and hardest: 15.45 km starting from the little square of Ponti di Pornassio at 392 m, the lowest point in the municipality. Six hours of walking through chestnut groves and panoramic ridges.

Easy but charming: just 2.1 km and a little over half an hour to reach the country chapel of St Lucy, set among chestnut trees. Perfect with children.
